Solas Restaurant, Stornoway -
Fresh food, beautifully prepared and presented ...
Solas means
'light' in Gaelic and that's an excellent word to describe this modern
brasserie style restaurant, completed in 2007. The
sophisticated light and sound system means that the ambience may be
adjusted to suit the time of day.
The restaurant
is popular with both visitors and local residents, serving contemporary
dishes that may best be described as a fusion of traditional
Scottish recipes, classic cuisine and world specialities.
Wines are specially selected to complement the food and offer
the same combination of the highest possible quality and good value
that we can achieve.
Fresh,
Scottish ingredients are used extensively, including superb, local fish and seafood.
Hebridean
langoustines and
scallops are particularly good and well worth sampling, as are Lewis
lamb, Angus beef, Leurbost mussels, local estate venison and other
delicacies.
Menus change
